- Yes, you're a little mistaken. The new Pentium Pro MMX chips have added
- fast instructions which make writing multimedia code/3d code, etc.
- easier, such as 4 multiplies in a tick, operations on 8-bytes in a tick,
- etc. (I've heard it said that software 3d code written for an MMX chip
- outperforms all the currently-available 3d hardware PC add-ons (or at
- least those that are affordable :-)
